Raphael Wallfisch and Peter Donohoe get together again to give a cello and piano recital at the Petworth Festival on July 29. As part of a tour to celebrate their mutual 60th birthdays, this promises to be a great collaboration - see this review of a recent performance of the same repertoire: Review
The program includes Rachmaninov's extraordinary Cello Sonata - one of the composer's most tuneful works, with a piano part described by Vladimir Ashkenazy as even more difficult than any of Rachmaninov's Piano Concertos (P.D. doesn't necessarily agree....)
